Nordic Escapes Travel Agency is owned and run by Swede Sara Silbersky.

After 7 years in the United Kingdom studying and working in finance, Sara left the hectic life of London and returned to her native Sweden. She rediscovered the Lapland she had visited as a child and fell deeply in love with it once more.

For the first couple of years back, Sara worked as a guide on dogsled tours, as well as organising holidays to Lapland for international guests.

In her words, "Lapland is a magical place. Every season is different and the scenery varies greatly from high mountains to flat open land and thick forests. It's a place where nature thrives and there's an opportunity for endless adventure travel and fun."

With her experience from living abroad, and with her knowledge of and passion for holidays in Lapland, Sara started Nordic Escapes in 2006.

"The goal," says Sara, "is to deliver a unique experience for guests looking for adventure holidays in Lapland. The majority of the activities we offer take place in small groups with a professional guide, which I feel is the best way to visit Lapland. Our local guides have extensive knowledge and experience of the weather and the land, of nature and the culture, which I feel is important."
